Why do we recommend this museum?
Apart from the fact that this museum is on our best list, as the city’s most important museum it bears a responsibility like hardly any other institution. And the museum, under the leadership of its directors, lives up to this responsibility. The exhibitions are balanced, the captions are of high quality and the learning effect is enormous.
This is, of course, only our own opinion and should anything change due to external circumstances, we will remove this museum from our list in the future. So far, the museum has met the standards set for it.
You should take a few hours to visit. There really is a lot to see. The museum is best known for the paintings of Polish and foreign artists.
You should take a few hours during a visit. There is really a lot to see. The museum is known mainly for the painting art of Polish and foreign artists. The most famous and impressive work of art is the painting by Jan Matejko “Battle of Tannenberg” from 1878. The painting hangs at the very end of the museum and has incredible dimensions of 4,26 m x 9,98 m.
