Free Chopin Concert

Since 1959, the famous Chopin concerts have been held on Sundays in the Royal Łazienki Park in front of the Chopin Monument. Admission is free of charge.

Concerts take place every Sunday from May to September at 12pm and 4pm.

W hen Warsaw switches into summer mode, one ritual simply belongs to it: the free Chopin concerts at the Chopin Monument in Łazienki Park. In the open air, surrounded by old trees and elegant park avenues, you can hear the best-known works of the Polish composer on Sundays—right in the heart of the city, yet far away from everyday life.

Location and atmosphere

The stage is set right next to the famous Chopin Monument, one of the park’s most popular photo spots. Visitors sit on benches, on blankets in the grass, or relax in the shade. The audience is diverse—Warsaw locals, tourists, families, students—and many return regularly because the atmosphere is so special. It’s not a stiff classical event, but an open-air picnic with music.

When do the concerts take place?

The concerts have been held every Sunday from May to September for decades. There are two performances, at 12:00 and 16:00. Admission is free and there are no tickets—if you want a good spot, simply arrive a bit earlier.

Practical tips

Bring a blanket, some water, and perhaps a snack, and remember sun or rain protection—the weather makes all the difference. Łazienki Park is large, so plan time for a walk too, for example to the Palace on the Isle or to see the peacocks. The best idea is to combine the concert with a relaxed Sunday in the greenery.
