Zachwatowicz Monument

The monument to Jan Zachwatowicz stands in front of the medieval city wall of Warsaw’s Old Town. He was the architect responsible for the perfect reconstruction of the Old Town. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980.
Description
Jan Zachwatowicz was born on 4 March 1900 and died in Warsaw on 18 August 1983. The reconstructed Old Town is his achievement and the best that Polish reconstruction art has to offer.
Mr Zachwatowicz also designed the official UNESCO monument plaque (1956)
The monument was not erected until early 2021. However, it had been due for a long time.
