Warsaw University Roof Garden

per person

walking-warsawThe garden on the roof of the Warsaw University Library in the borough Powisle (Downtown District)) is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The students of the Institute of Botany use the area for their scientific activities. Guests enjoy a wonderful view of the skyline.

Short description

T he rooftop garden was designed by agricultural architect Irena Bajerska. The area is 1 hectare, making it one of the largest rooftop gardens in Europe. It is open to the public, but is closed after sunset during the summer season. It is also closed during the winter months from November to the end of March. The garden below is permanently open, but not worth the effort.

From the roof you can see the tops of Warsaw’s skyscrapers. So it’s worth visiting at sunset. Don’t forget your camera!
