The private or public walking tours, along with bike tours and culinary experiences, are the keys to their success. They can hardly wait to pick up and start with the next group.

What to see in Warsaw: the city highlights you shouldn’t miss

Warsaw is a city of contrasts: a rebuilt UNESCO-listed Old Town, royal palaces and parks, moving WWII history, and a modern skyline that keeps growing. If you’re short on time, focus on the classic highlights below – they cover the most famous attractions and give you a perfect “first Warsaw” experience. Of course we would be more than happy if you join our private or public guided tours in Warsaw. Just check our OFFER

1) Warsaw Old Town and the New Town

The Old Town is Warsaw’s most iconic area and the place where most visitors start. Walk through the Market Square, follow the charming streets up to the Barbican, and continue into the quieter New Town. What makes it special is not only the atmosphere, but the story: after WWII, the historic center was meticulously reconstructed and today feels like a living postcard.

Don’t miss: Old Town Market Square, the Barbican, city walls viewpoints, New Town Market Square, and the riverside views nearby.

2) Royal Castle, Castle Square and the Royal Route

Castle Square is the classic “this is Warsaw” moment: the Royal Castle on one side and the famous column of King Sigismund on the other. From here you can continue along the Royal Route – one of the most elegant walking corridors in Poland – lined with historic churches, palaces, universities, cafés, and lively streets like Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat.

Tip: This is the perfect area for a sunset walk, especially if you finish near the river or stroll toward the city center for dinner.

3) Royal Łazienki Park and the Chopin Warsaw vibe

If you want the green, romantic side of Warsaw, head to Royal Łazienki Park. It’s the city’s most famous park and a must-see for first-time visitors: elegant gardens, peaceful lakes, peacocks, and the beautiful Palace on the Isle. It’s also home to the Chopin Monument – an essential stop for music lovers and a great place to soak up the relaxed local atmosphere.

Don’t miss: Palace on the Isle, the gardens, and the Chopin Monument area (especially in warm season).

4) Palace of Culture and Science and modern Warsaw skyline

The Palace of Culture and Science is Warsaw’s most recognizable landmark and the easiest way to understand the city’s scale. Take the elevator to the viewing terrace to get panoramic views: historic districts, the river, and the modern business center with its skyscrapers. From here, Warsaw’s transformation becomes obvious – you’ll see why the city is considered one of Europe’s most dynamic capitals.

Extra idea: Combine the viewpoint with a walk around the central streets and modern districts for great photos and an “old meets new” experience.

5) The must-visit museums: POLIN and the Warsaw Uprising Museum

Warsaw’s top museums are famous far beyond Poland, and they’re key to understanding the city’s identity. POLIN Museum tells the 1000-year history of Polish Jews in a modern, immersive way and sits in the area of the former Warsaw Ghetto. The Warsaw Uprising Museum is one of the most powerful WWII museums in Europe, focusing on the 1944 uprising and the dramatic destruction of the city.

If you want a meaningful Warsaw itinerary, include at least one of these museums – they add depth to everything you see in the streets.
